The first arguments will be heard in Kittitas County Superior Court on a case that could overturn the recently passed minimum wage law.

Farmers Brad Haberman, Mark Charlton and Bill Wirth filed the challenge stating the I-1433 violates the state’s constitution by containing multiple subjects, a minimum wage increase and sick time leave standards.

The three are joined by the Washington Farm Bureau, National Federation of Independent Business, the Association of General Contractors of Washington, the Northwest Food Processors Association, the Washington Food Industry Association and the Washington Retail Association in the suit.

Friday’s hearing will begin at 2:00 p.m.
