Whatcom Family Farmers Express Condolences for Worker Death

Whatcom County farmers expressed their condolences to the family of Honesto Silva Ibarra, a farm worker employed by Sarbanand Farm. Brad Rader, a berry farmer and president of Whatcom Family Farmers said, “Many of our farm employees have been with the same farm and farmer for many years and really become part of the family. This is a sad loss for the employee’s family and friends, for the farmer and all of us in the farm community.”  According to a release by the Whatcom Family Farmers, it is unclear what caused Ibarra's death with conflicting information being provided by the farm and labor activists.
