Washington Wine Commission’s annual research review will take place January 18th and 19th at the Clore Center in Prosser.

Research Program Manager Melissa Hansen said the day will feature between 20-25 presentations on new proposals and extensions.

“It’s an annual chance to really get a good pulse on what’s happening in viticulture and enology research.”

While the industry won’t be able to vote on the research, there will be an opportunity to meet and interact with the Commission’s research board that will make the final decisions.

Hansen said previous iterations of the research review were not publicized, but they felt it important to involve the industry in their process.

“We want to get students coming, WSU students, industry people all as a way to see that there’s some really cool research that’s being funded as well as, this is the direction that research is going.”

The review is free, but they do ask anyone interested in attending to register because they want a head count for lunch.
