Walla Walla Sweet Onion Festival Celebrates Harvest

The Walla Walla Sweet Onion Festival marks the unofficial kickoff of the sweet onion harvest season this weekend.

Dan McClure of Walla Walla Organic said the festival offers great exposure for the crop.

“To have the festival and get a lot of people together is a good promotion for the industry.”

People travel from several places to enjoy the festival atmosphere, but the first tastes of Walla Walla sweet onions is also a big benefit.

The festival runs Saturday, June 18th and Sunday, June 19^th.
