The USDA and NRCS announced that a new round of applications is being accepted for the Regional Conversation Partnership Program, which is designed to assist with conservation projects through contracts or easements.

USDA Deputy-Under Secretary for Natural Resources Ann Mills said, “We have seen extraordinary response in now two years worth of the program. We have been able to leverage funds dollar for dollar and in some cases more than a dollar match and put in conservation of significant scale.”

NRCS funded 84 projects in 2016 including projects in Spokane and Whatcom County.

$260 million of funding is available for projects in 2017.

The deadline to apply is May 10.
