US Secures Full Access to Peru for Beef
USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack and U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman announced that they’ve gained full access for U.S. beef in Peru.
The Export Verification Program has been in place since 2003 and with its removal offers American ranchers unlimited access to a fast-growing market.
Vilsack said, “the United States and Peru have enjoyed one of the strongest bilateral trade relationships in the Western Hemisphere, and today it became much stronger."
The U.S. exported $25 million of beef to Peru in 2015 but that figures to expand with the removal of trade barriers.
