A Tri-Cities transport company is embroiled in a legal dispute with Perdue AgriBusiness.

In March, Walters Inc. filed a lawsuit against Perdue stating that the Maryland-based company had not paid them for nearly $52,000 in services rendered.

Perdue Agribusiness filed a countersuit in June accusing the transport company of skimming canola meal and pellets off each shipment and selling to area dairies due to a contract stipulation allowing one percent of shrinkage.

Perdue claims that the stolen canola was tracked in an electronic spreadsheet called canola stash.

Perdue Agribusiness is seeking approximately $800,000.

The case is set to go to trial in February of 2017.
