Senators Joni Ernst of Iowa and Mike Braun of Indiana introduced the Define WOTUS Act last week.  The legislation will codify a definition of the Waters of the U.S. Rule and reassert Congressional authority to define the term.   Ernst says the Obama-era rule threatened Iowa’s farmers, manufacturers, and small businesses by giving the federal government authority to regulate water in 97% of Iowa.

The Environmental Protection Agency has officially announced their intent to repeal the controversial Waters of the U.S. rule from 2015.   Administrator Scott Pruitt said once that happens, “ revert back to 2008, the standard that was adopted in 2008 through some guidance and in that timeframe, and then have a proposed rule on a replacement to the 2015 rule.”   ...
