Efforts continue in Congress to reverse President Trump's tariffs, but they'll have a difficult time getting enough support to pass.  Oregon congresswoman Andrea Salinas joined House Democratic leadership in supporting a move to restore Congressional authority over trade.

"Trump's reckless and harmful approach to tariffs will devastate states like Oregon where our economy relies heavily on trade," she said.

Oregon exports and imports billions of dollars' worth of products every year.  Salinas said the shock to the economy could lead to recession and higher unemployment.

"This is a choice to play roulette with people's hard earned money and roll the dice on whether our folks can afford food, pay the rent, send their kids to college or even retire right now."

Senator Ron Wyden co-sponsored a similar effort in his chamber to repeal the President’s tariffs.  Economists say consumers pay for tariffs, and estimate the added tax will cost the average family nearly four-thousand-dollars a year.
