Presenting Farming Truths to Urban Consumers
Telling agriculture’s story has become a common theme amongst commodity and advocacy groups to the industry.
Kevin Folta with the University of Florida said it’s important to remember who the audience is and other research shows that farmers have a lot of credibility and trust built up with potential consumers.
Claire Lindahl of the Soil and Water Conservation Society said there is also a natural curiousity.
“It intrigued, it compelled me, it motivated me. I think just getting the information out there and getting it understandable to the general public; people will naturally be inclined to be interested in it.”
If you are looking for guidance, several commodity groups have tools and tips on how to reach out to potential customers and tell your story to anyone interested in listening.
