Rural healthcare funding allocated through the Big Beautiful Bill is starting to go out through the Oregon Health Authority.  The OHA’s Clare Pierce-Wrobel said prioritized projects focus on essential services that are particularly challenging in rural communities.

"Including Behavioral Health, Maternity Care services, Primary Care and Emergency Medical services," Pierce-Wrobel noted.

She added a dozen projects around Oregon will share $6.5 million this year, in Immediate Impact Awards, with more on the way this summer.

"Through May 26th, OHA is accepting proposals for more innovative rural healthcare projects, which we’re calling Catalyst Awards," Pierce-Wrobel said.

Another $21.7 million will go to the state’s nine federally recognized tribes, and $50 million is going directly to Oregon’s rural hospitals, health clinics and public health authorities.
