Northwest Storms Bring Benefits
The big storm event this past week and weekend may have not met expectations, but they still brought some much needed help to the Northwest.
USDA Meteorologist Brad Rippey said, “Because of antecedent warmth and dryness we saw very little flooding with all of this which means the moisture has generally soaked into the soils and has really improved the moisture situation across the Northwest.”
That improved soil moisture will be helpful for pasture lands as well as recently planted winter wheat and other grain crops.
