The latest forecasts for the hazelnut crop in Oregon shows a drop of 18 percent.

 

The USDA’s Oregon office did an objective yield survey and they project 36,000 tons of hazelnuts will be harvested this year, a drop 8,000 tons from last year.

 

The percentage of good nuts, as tested by the USDA is higher this year in most size categories.

 

This year’s crop is 5,000 tons more than 2015.
