FY21 Ag Exports Off To A Great Start

Some analysts said they were a little surprised at the big agricultural export numbers recently reported by the USDA. Those numbers from September came in at just over $12 billion, and according to USDA Economist Bart Kenner, the October figure was even higher at $15.1 billion.

"The last time we saw a number that strong was November 2013."

Kenner noted the figures from October were a 23% increase from September's strong showing and it's about the same increase from October a year ago.

"It's a lot easier to have a solid year total number if your first month of the fiscal year is a solid number."

On top of that, USDA is forecasting Ag exports this fiscal year to top last year by 12%.
