Grocery shoppers might have noticed that they are paying a little more these days than they were a couple of months ago.

USDA Economist Annemarie Kuhns said food prices have risen for the past three straight months.

“Really only four of the major food categories we paid less in January than we did in February. Beef and veal prices rose half a percent. Pork prices rose 1.6 percent and we paid .1 percent more for poultry.”

Kuhns did note that we are paid about 1.6 percent less for groceries in February than we did in February of last year.
