Researchers and scientists from across the nation are turning their ideas into viable commercial products through the i-FAST, Innovations in Food and Agricultural Science Technologies, program.

“Cornell has a company that they’ve created, it’s called Flora-Pulse, and it is about coming up with truly efficient irrigation systems particularly for specialty crops like fruits and vegetables and things like that. They’ve got additional funding, they’re looking for venture capital as a result of the training they went through in the i-FAST program.”

 

Lincoln University researchers turned a pathogen detection biotechnology test kit into a company that helps in food safety.

 

The first round of training is in Seattle in January. You can find out more about the i-FAST program including how to enter and the application due dates at their website.
