Christmas tree growers will be voting on whether or not to keep the checkoff that currently goes to pay for promotions.

Marsha Grey with the Christmas Tree Association said it’s the third year of the program.

“The first year was just collecting the first year or two years of programming, that’s it.”

The Association is doing a lot of social media promotion and has advertising on the Hallmark cable channel as they fight against the invasion of the artificial tree.

Growers have a generally positive view of the checkoff.

The growers will be voting in the spring or summer on the future of the checkoff program.
