Bentz: Administration Is Working To Drive Down Fuel Prices

Oregon Republican Congressman Cliff Bentz acknowledges record high diesel prices deeply impact his rural constituents, but said the President is appropriately focused on preventing Iran from getting a nuclear weapon.

"The challenge now, for any administration, is to say, ‘We have to bring this thing to an end, so we don’t end up with it even being worse the next time around'," Bentz said.

He added President Trump is working to drive down prices by reducing U.S. reliance on foreign oil.

"And that’s why the Trump administration did so much in Trump 1 to open up drilling here and there and everywhere to try and get more oil and gas," said Bentz.  "And the same has been true here in Trump 2."

While the U.S. is the top oil producing nation, gas and diesel prices are determined globally.
