USDA’s Ag Outlook Forum doesn’t happen for a couple of months yet, but work is under way to make sure that it is successful.

Outlook Board Chair Seth Meyer says there are a wide variety of sessions over the two days, but there is one particular that he thinks will be fascinating.

“Brazil as a competitor over about the next 15 years; kind of how this country is developing.”

Another highlight of the 94th Forum is the first time Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue will address the group.

Meyer says it’s important Perdue is a part of this.

“The key element is that we’ll get to hear from the Secretary for the first time at the Forum. Last year he was not yet confirmed so we didn’t have him available for the Forum and he was joking with us that we hadn’t invited him last year. Well, we couldn’t invite him of course cause he was still being considered and he hadn’t yet been confirmed.”

The Outlook Forum is February 22nd and 23rd in Arlington, VA.
