This weekend - Saturday April 27 and Sunday April 28 - families can head to Salem, Oregon for the annual Oregon Ag Fest.

WHERE: Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem

WHEN: Saturday, April 27, from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. ; Sunday, April 28, from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Designed with kids as a main focus, Oregon Ag Fest offers dozens of agriculture-related activities to help connect the general public to the local ag community. Parking is free, as is admission for kids under age 15. Ages 16 and up admission only costs $15.

At the heart of Oregon Ag Fest is "Ag Country." This area offers 25 hands-on activities in a miniature rural town. Families can help plant seedlings, shuck corn, dig for potatoes, watch chicks hatch, sample products, and much more.

The event also features live music, breakfast made by the local 4-H, a petting zoo, sheep shearing, dog herding, wagon rides, logging demos, equipment showcases and - of course - pony rides.

Have you ever wondered what kind of agricultural products Oregon produces? While you might first think of huckleberries, marionberries, or crab, you'll be surprised to see what the top ten commodities are in Oregon (as of the 2022 ODA report).
