The Washington state Department of Agriculture is now accepting applications for the second round of training and networking through the women’s Farm2Food Accelerator program. This effort is geared for women in the food and agriculture business in both Washington and Oregon. The WSDA’s Karen Ullmann said those who participated in the Accelerator last year said they appreciated the weekly support that best suits their operation.

“There will be activities, videos, class discussions where the businesses will really get to dive into different pain points, or issues that they’re coming across, get some active live feedback and also get to network with a lot of other fantastic businesses.”

The Farm2Food Accelerators is a partnership with the WSDA, the National Association of state Departments of Agriculture Foundation as well as the Oregon Department of Agriculture. Ullman noted the funding is targeted specifically toward specialty crops.

“Any entrepreneur that’s thinking of developing a value added food product that’s sourced with ingredients from the Oregon/Washington bounty, those are really the folks that we’re trying to attract to this program, those are really the types of crops we’re hoping to promote.  And that’s that local angel we’re hoping to elevate through this as well.”

Applications are being accepted through Friday October 15th. Click Here to learn more about the Women’s Farm2Food Accelerators, or to register.
