After weeks of temperatures 15-20 degrees below normal, it appears the Inland Northwest will return to more seasonal temperatures.  Dennis Hull with the National Weather Service told the Washington Ag Network the region will see a winter mix Wednesday, and perhaps early Thursday, but things will moderate after that.

“Temperatures close to normal for the rest of the week, on in to the early part of next week.  I really don’t see any arctic intrusion for the rest of this month.”

Hull added while many are looking forward to temperatures above freezing there are some safety concerns.

“Because there could be some localized flooding either due to the combination of the rain and melting snow, or maybe some ice jams on some of the local streams.”

Hull noted livestock producers should expect cold stress over the next 24-48 hours, due to freezing rain and occasional winds.
