According to NASS it was a mixed year for potato producers across the Northwest.

 

Potatoes planted in Idaho totaled 310,000 acres, down 2% from 2018.  Harvested area, at 308,000 acres, is down 2% from last year.  Production totaled 131 million cwt, down 8% from 2018.  Yield is estimated at 425 cwt per acre, down 25 cwt from last year.

 

Potato planted in Washington totaled 165,000 acres up 3% from 2018.  Harvested area, at 165,000 acres, up 3 percent from last year.  Production totaled 103 million cwt, up 2% from a year ago.  Yield is estimated at 625 cwt per acre, down 5 cwt from 2018.

 

In Oregon, potatoes planted totaled 45,000 acres, unchanged from 2018.  Harvested area, at 44,900 acres is down slightly from last year.  Production totaled 25.1 million cwt, down 7% from a year ago.  Yield is estimated at 560 cwt per acre, down 40 cwt from 2018.
