The Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife Division is asking for your help finding the person or persons responsible for shooting a wolf to death in Wallowa County. Investigators said the wolf was reported to OSP and the state Department of Fish and Wildlife on Saturday January 8th. The collared wolf was found in the Sled Springs Wildlife Management Unit, roughly six miles southeast of Wallowa, OR

The initial investigation revealed that the wolf OR 106, a two-year-old collared female, likely died as a result of being shot. OR 106 was a lone wolf that dispersed from the Chesnimnus Pack.
