Columbia Basin Farm Community Preparing To Tee Up To Help RMHC
We are weeks away from the 9th annual Ag World Golf Classic teeing off in Kennewick and Moses Lake. The two day event encourages farm country to come together to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Inland Northwest in Spokane. Bryan Henninger, manager of the tournament, says the Ronald McDonald House is there for families when a child is thrown into chaos with a medical crisis.
“My dad, Warren Henninger, had the vision of brining the Columbia Basin agricultural community together to help support those families, because 60% of the families that the Spokane House serves comes from the Columbia Basin, and his vision was to help those families and have the agricultural community come together to provide that support.”
Henninger added many don’t appreciate just how many families are impacted each year by the Ronald McDonald House.
“During the golf event at the end of the day, we actually have people standup and just be acknowledged whose families have actually been impacted by the Ronald McDonald House. It’s amazing how many people that you know, that I know that have actually experience the Ronald McDonald House.”
Last year, Henninger said they raised over $118,000 for RMCH and they hope to eclipse that total this year. The 9th annual Ag World Golf Classic is Tuesday June 14th at Canyon Lakes Golf Course in Kennewick, as well as Thursday June 16th at The Links at Moses Pointe in Moses Lake.
